Bay County

Situated along the gulf coast in the North-Western part of Florida, Bay County is located in the U.S.A. and it was founded on April 24, 1913. The area was named after a meeting between five major town representatives of St. Andrews Bay in Panama City, who mutually decided to name the area ‘Bay County’. As a result, it was formed from Calhoun, Walton, and Washington counties.

Bay County extends over an area of 1033 square miles, and the total population of the community is about 174,705, recorded in 2019. In recent times, Bay was hard-hit by Hurricane Michael, which was one of the most destructive hurricanes in U.S history. However, modern infrastructure development and financial resources have restored a large part of the area, as it continues to flourish with economic opportunities.

The community offers an extensive variety of tourist attractions and beaches, as well as themed parks and recreational centers. The St. Andrews State Park is one such location that offers a plethora of outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, and showcases a beautiful natural landscape. The Gulf World is another must-visit place in the county, which exhibits marine life and an attractive tropical garden.
