Spring Hill Florida
Spring Hill is a CDP (Census Designated Place) that is situated in the Southwest region of Hernando County. Spring Hill was revealed as a "planned community" and founded in 1967. It is situated just 12 miles east of Hernando Beach. According to a 2010 population estimate, 98,621 people reside in the city.
Historically, the city of Spring Hill was a relatively large region consisting of endangered Sand Pine Scrubs and the Longleaf Pine Ecosystem, therefore boasting rich biodiversity. However, in the 1970s, large-scale deforestation devastated most of the ecosystem in Spring Hill. In recent times, the city has become a bustling semi-city even though it remains an unincorporated area. The total geographical area is 62.2 square miles.
Spring Hill is globally recognized for the underwater mermaid show held at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. The state park itself also hosts several other amusement rides suitable for children and adults of all ages. Other points of interest also include the Buccaneer Bay, a serene water park that exhibits a rich display of manatees, and also has access to a park and beach for all kinds of outdoor activities. The SunWest Park, another park and amusement center, and the Crews Lake Wilderness Park, a stunning natural hiking trail and a botanical garden for local tourists to explore.
