Eastpoint Florida

Eastpoint is a census-designated place and a small town of just over 2,000 people in Franklin County. It is located in the northeastern corner of Franklin county and used to be known for its coal mining industry, which was once home to large coal mining reserves.

Disaster struck Eastpoint in 2018 when a planned fire was ignited, resulting in heavy loss of property and land damage amounting to 1,000 acres in just 24 hours. About 36 families also lost their homes as a result of this fire. A rehabilitation process has begun ever since and has been vastly successful in recent times.

Eastpoint spans over a total area of 7.3 square miles at an elevation of 7 feet, with a population density of roughly 295.6 per square mile.

The community of Eastpoint itself may be a small settlement, but its proximity to the East Bay and the Apalachicola River makes it an intriguing place for boating, fishing, and other riverside activities. Popular points of interest that are nearby Eastpoint include the Apalachicola River Wildlife and Environment Area, a wildlife area that spans over 60,000 acres of land and exhibits a distinct species of local wildlife, and the Bryant Patton Memorial Bridge, a popular viewpoint and island for visitors to explore.
